His journey began on the airwaves of KSPC FM, a small but influential radio station East of Los Angeles, where he honed his ear and passion as a resident DJ. Over the decades, he has become one of the most respected figures in underground techno, known for his relentless work ethic, signature hypnotic rhythms, and uncompromising sound. As the founder and curator of the highly influential imprints Modularz, Olympian, and Developer Archive, he has played a critical role in defining the modern techno aesthetic, championing raw, functional, and forward-thinking music. Developer’s sonic identity is firmly rooted in the American warehouse tradition, yet it resonates deeply across the globe, reflected in his regular appearances at elite institutions like Tresor and Berghain in Berlin, Khidi in Tbilisi, Under Club in Buenos Aires, and Radion in Amsterdam, to name a few. His discography boasts collaborations and releases on some of techno's most revered labels, including Jeff Mills’ Axis Records, Luke Slater’s Mote Evolver. A former member of Oscar Mulero’s esteemed PoleGroup collective, Developer continues to release and perform with intensity and vision. With decades of influence behind him and no sign of slowing down, Developer remains a central pillar of the global underground techno movement. FULL Developer, born Adrian Sandoval, is a pioneering force in the Los Angeles techno scene, with a career spanning over three decades. One of the few active DJ/producers to emerge from LA's underground in the early 1990s, Developer has been instrumental in shaping the West Coast techno movement through his performances, productions, and curatorial efforts. His journey began back in 1992 playing parties in the east Los Angeles backyard scene, then in 1994 as a resident DJ on 88.7 FM KSPC, where he honed his craft before transitioning into a key role at Entity Music Distribution, the first dedicated techno distribution company on the West Coast. As Import & Export Manager, he played a crucial role in bringing seminal labels such as Axis Records, Reload Belgium, Plus 8, and various labels from Detroit and Chicago to the West Coast USA and down to Mexico and South America in the mid 1990s. Renowned for his marathon DJ sets, precision mixing, and dynamic programming, Developer's ability to seamlessly blend 50 tracks per hour across three turntables, using effects processors and samplers, has earned him a reputation as a high-caliber performer. His contributions to LA's techno culture extend beyond the decks—he has curated and hosted events that introduced international talents to the city, further cementing his legacy as a key architect of the scene. Today, Developer continues to push the boundaries of techno through his labels, Modularz and Olympian with both platforms showcasing both established and rising talents from across the world.
