Pete Tong (b. 1960, Kent) is a legendary British DJ, producer, and tastemaker who has shaped electronic dance music for decades. Best known for his BBC Radio 1 shows "Essential Selection" and "Essential Mix," he founded FFRR label, co-founded WME's electronic division, and launched the International Music Summit. Appointed MBE in 2014, his name inspired the rhyming slang phrase "gone Pete Tong" (wrong). Now based in LA, he continues global residencies and A&R work.
