SCAN 7 is an electronic music collective from Detroit founded in the late 1980’s during the rise of the city’s second wave of techno producers . SCAN 7’s members include an ever evolving lineup of masked musicians and vocalists led by founding member TRACK MASTA LOU. Their sound is constantly evolving, echoing the techno sound of their hometown and then, seemingly at will, mutating from electro to uplifting house or any number of other sub genres. In 2000 they premiered SCAN 7 : LIVE at the inaugural DETROIT ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL (D.E.M.F ). This first live performance helped solidified SCAN 7’s reputation as a top level live electronic act until this day. SCAN 7 has released records on some of electronic music’s most prestigious labels. These include Underground Resistance,Tresor ,F-Comm ,and KMS , amongst many others. Their hits include “YOU HAVE THE RIGHT “, “BLACK MOON RISING”, and the seminal “THE RESISTANCE “. Most recently, they released “The Hallowed Ground E.P.” On their own SCAN RECORDS label.
