Special Request is an alias of Leeds-born producer Paul Woolford, active since 2012. Inspired by UK pirate radio's raw energy, the project captures breakbeat techno, drum'n'bass, jungle, and rave influences--described as "the ruffage, the rowdy younger brother" of his work. Notable releases include Soul Music (2013), Modern Warfare EPs on XL (2015), and Fabriclive 91 mix (2017). Special Request is also his vinyl imprint label.
