The Prodigy are an English electronic music band formed in Braintree in 1990 by Liam Howlett. Pioneers of rave and breakbeat, they evolved into mainstream success with "The Fat Of The Land" (1997), blending electronic music with rock guitars. Core members include Howlett and MC Maxim. Keith Flint (dancer/vocalist, died 2019) and Leeroy Thornhill (dancer/keyboardist, left 2000) were former members. Dubbed "Godfathers of Rave," they describe their style as electronic punk.
